"Authentic power is the real deal. You can't inherit it, buy it, or win it. You also can't lose it. You don't need to build your body, reputation, wealth or charisma to get it.~Gary Zukav
Courage, "Authenticity" and Integrity
My definition meant "to be 100% transparent."
This gets me in trouble.
"Oops, I said too much."
That's how it goes most of the time.
It's okay to say something and...
Not say everything.
It's still being authentic.
People are always judging you.
On your character, your truth, your passion, where you come from, how you eat, what you wear...
Have you ever noticed the first time meeting someone, one of the questions is "Where are you from?"
After you answer, they immediately categorize you in their mind.
Without considering there is more...
You look a certain way, a person starts putting you into a group.
How you act, each time you talk, or do something...
That's the way it is...
You are you.
It doesn't just occur, the truth about you is innate and it's all yours.
Can you be vulnerable and transparent yet walk the talk at the same time?
It's all about integrity.
At the end of the day you are the one that looks into the mirror and accepts who you are.
It's all about being authentic... the truth that lies within.

I've spent a fair amount of my life chewing over ideas surrounding "Courage", Authenticity and Integrity.
Runners get this.
We are a bit courageous every time we step out the door for a run.
The moment we sign up.
Each time we lace up our running shoes.
And walk out the door for a run.
Every time we step up to the start line with butterflies in our stomachs.
This is an active choice.
It doesn't happen to us,
We choose to Do it.
A Choice that changes us forever.
That act of courage contributes to our character.
Courage... can be found in unlikely places.
